Frozen Shoulder/Shoulder Pain

Frozen shoulder syndrome, a.k.a., adhesive capsulitis is a very painful and debilitating condition that affects approximately 3% of the population. The condition is characterized by severe shoulder pain, very limited shoulder range of motion, and noticeable disruption of sleep due to pain. Many times the patient does not know what brought on the condition. It affects women more than men and in about 10 to 20% of patients, they can develop frozen shoulder syndrome in the other shoulder as well.

Up until now the current medical thinking is that frozen shoulder syndrome starts in the affected shoulder. Current treatments including cortisone injections, anti-inflammatory drugs, and physical therapy are directed at the symptomatic shoulder. If these attempts fail, surgical procedures such as manipulation under anesthesia or arthroscopic surgery may be attempted. The success rates for these interventions are low and the patient usually spends months to years with debilitating pain and impaired function.

Dr. D'Amico helped to develop a very effective method of analysis and treatment for fixing frozen shoulder syndrome and helping you get your life back to normal more quickly.
