What is Focused Shockwave Therapy?

The Chippewa Chiropractic Clinic has been serving Beaver County, Pennsylvania since 1997 with the mission of providing exceptional healthcare delivered by compassionate people in a warm and friendly environment. Dr. Louis D’Amico, a chiropractor and pharmacist, has been studying ways to treat debilitating painful musculoskeletal conditions for since 1997. Dr. D’Amico began using state of the art compressed shockwave therapy delivered by an Elvation USA PiezoWave2 shockwave therapy unit in November of 2022. He studied this exciting shockwave therapy treatment modality for 2 years before bringing it into the practice.

PiezoWave 2 Compressed Shockwave Therapy is a very interesting therapeutic treatment. The use of compressed sound waves for various medical conditions has been going on for quite some time. Many may remember Lithotripsy used to break up kidney stones. This is the same technology but designed to treat chronic musculoskeletal pain. Think of conditions like myofascial trigger points, chronic bursitis pain in the hip or shoulder, chronic plantar fasciitis pain, chronic neck and back pain, and tennis or golfer’s elbow. Many times patients have suffered years of pain and have tried other medical options like pain pills, physical therapy, cortisone shots, deep tissue massage, and more without any real results.
The focused compressed sound wave of the PiezoWave2 interacts with these degenerated muscles, ligaments, and tendons to reawaken the healing process and our results have been amazing!

You can go to the “Services“ tab on the Chippewa Chiropractic Clinic website and open the “Shockwave therapy tab” to find out more exciting information about PiezoWave2 therapy and also see some of the patient testimonials.

Dr. D’Amico, his family, and staff use shockwave therapy often to keep them in the game when they injure themselves from their activities of daily living and sports. If you or someone you know may benefit from shockwave therapy please refer them to the Chippewa Chiropractic Clinic website or have them call our office to make an appointment at 724–843–7255.
