What is Class 4 High Power Hot Laser Therapy?

The Chippewa Chiropractic Clinic has been serving Beaver County, Pennsylvania since 1997 with the mission of providing exceptional healthcare delivered by compassionate people in a warm and friendly environment. Dr. Louis D’Amico, a chiropractor and pharmacist, has been studying ways to treat debilitating painful musculoskeletal conditions for 25 years. Dr. D’Amico began using Class 4 Laser Therapy in his office in 2015.

High power laser therapy is a very interesting therapeutic treatment. The use of laser light for various medical conditions has been going on for quite some time. Wave lengths between  800 and 1100 nm seem to be very effective for treating acute musculoskeletal conditions like acute sprain/strains, acute sports injuries, automobile accidents, acute inflammatory conditions like plantar fasciitis, golfers elbow, tennis elbow, hip bursitis, and shoulder bursitis. Most division one colleges and professional sports teams now use high power class four hot lasers to help their players return from acute injuries much faster than before and without the use of dangerous drugs.

In 2019 we upgraded from a 10 watt laser to a 30 watt laser. This allows us to deliver much more energy in the same amount of time and also penetrate more deeply into the body. The light energy interacts with the cells in our body to increase cellular respiration and specifically increase ATP production which speeds up the healing process. The laser also reduces pain by stimulating encephalin and endorphin production and stimulates perfusion to the injured area through the vascular and lymphatic systems.

You can go to the “Services“ tab on the Chippewa Chiropractic Clinic website and open the “high-power laser tab” to find out more exciting information about laser therapy and also see some of the patient testimonials.

Dr. D’Amico, his family, and staff use high-power laser therapy often to keep them in the game when they injure themselves from their activities of daily living and sports. If you or someone you know may benefit from high-power laser therapy please refer them to the Chippewa Chiropractic Clinic website or have them call our office to make an appointment at 724–843–7255.
