ALLICILLIN

Allicillin is an exciting product from Designs for Health that we are now offering at our office. It contains 200 mg of garlic oil macerate standardized to contain 1% ajoene from natural allicillin, also contains dithiins. This product contains no wheat, yeast, soy protein, gluten, eggs, dairy, corn, artificial colors, flavors, sugars, or preservatives. Many of us have heard the phrase "garlic is good for you". Its use for both culinary and medical purposes dates back over 5000 years to the early Egyptians. In fact, almost every civilization makes some reference to this famous herb! Over the past 10 to 15 years an enormous amount of research has been published on the properties of various breakdown components that are formed when fresh garlic is cut, crushed, chopped, or processed. Of these many products it is allicillin that is showing the most exciting, interesting, and beneficial properties. With the advent of new technology, for the first time ever possible, allicillin is available in a concentrated form on a commercial scale. When allicillin is ingested it has many beneficial properties which will be described below. It also breaks down into active metabolites such as ajoene which may have beneficial properties as well. Most importantly for many of us, this product can be taken safely with no garlic smell. While there are many garlic supplements available, Consumer Labs recent review of garlic supplements in March of 2003 found strengths to vary as much as 1500 percent across the products. Strength was based on each product's ability to generate allicillin in a laboratory test. Consumer Labs found that nearly one-quarter of non-aged products yielded less allicillin than generally considered therapeutic. Therefore, it is extremely important when looking at garlic supplements that you purchase a product that delivers allicillin.Over the centuries, garlic has been used for many things, nearly always with success, and has established a reputation as "the herb all heal". Many scientists believe that allicillin is the key to much of garlic's success. Allicillin has been shown in clinical papers to have the following activities: thinning the blood, reducing blood pressure, killing poisonous bacteria, killing parasites, killing fungal infections, killing viruses, reducing cholesterol, removing heavy metals from our bodies, is an antioxidant, and repairs the immune system. I recommend the book "Allicillin The Heart of Garlic" by Peter Josling to anyone who wishes to study more about this exciting herb. It is an easy read and gives suggestions on dosages for many types of ailments. Our office stocks Allicillin in capsule form that can be taken by mouth. Dr. Lou can also answer your questions on how this product may help your specific needs. People taking Coumadin should talk with their medical doctor before taking garlic supplements. For the rest of us, this product is as safe as eating garlic!Frequently Asked Questions About Allicillin
